Credit report and FICO score, and the issue of late payment?

I had 3 credit cards passed to the collection of about 8 months and I paid them all right around that time. They come in all 3 credit reports as potentially negative credit because everyone says that 120 days in arrears. They also told me that this lower my credit score. My question is: I have 1 credit card that is 180 days past due and shows that the amount has been canceled. Would increase my FICO score or help my credit report if paid anyway? Not appear to have contributed to the credit cards I paid. I'm looking for feedback Personal … I just want a real answer.
